Reckless Words Pierce

God calls us to be persistent in prayer, pray today:

Gracious God, Remind _____ that reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing  (Proverbs 12:18)  and remind _____ that the tongue has the power of life and death.  ~Amen (Proverbs 18:21)

Apply Wisdom

Praying changes things.  Take a moment to pray for someone right now:

Heavenly Father,  Help _____ turn his/her ear to wisdom and apply his/her heart to understanding.  May _____ call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding.

May _____ look for wisdom as for silver and search for it as hidden treasure so that _____ will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.  For it is You, O Lord, that gives wisdom.  ~Amen (Proverbs 2:2-6)

Words That Encourage

but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  ~Amen (Ephesians 4:29)

Contentment in Life

Heavenly Father, I ask that You would keep _____’s life free from the love of money and let him/her be content with that he/she has, knowing that You, O Lord, will never leave _____ or forsake him/her.

Let _____ be like the Apostle Paul, and be content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Remind _____  that he/she can do all things through Christ who gives him/her strength.  ~Amen   (from  Hebrews 13:5 & Philippians 4:12-13)

Sibling Rivalry

Heavenly Father, do not permit _____ to be quarrelsome;

instead, cause him/her to be gentle, patient, and humble, especially when _____ siblings are in the wrong…because then they will be more likely, with God’s help, to turn away from their wrong ideas and believe what is true.  ~Amen   (2 Timothy 2:24-26 LB)

Pray for your child today from Titus 2:6-8     Heavenly Father, help _____ to be self-controlled.  Let him/her show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose the gospel may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about him/her.

Lord, work on my child’s heart, mold ____ and make ____ into a person of Christ-like character.

Don’t Complain

Pray for your child today from Philippians 2, verse 14:

Heavenly Father, I pray that _____ will do everything without arguing or complaining.

God, this is a tough one, for me as well as my child.  Help both of us live gracefully and give grace to others each day.  Help us see when others are in need, help us do things for others when we’d rather not, and help us do so with joy.  ~Amen
